I fully support this application which fulfils the HBC's Climate Emergency mandate to 'Use whatever powers and influence we have, taking advantage of any new powers as they are made available to us by central government ... to make Hastings carbon neutral [and] for the borough to become energy self-sufficient through local sustainable energy generation'. I applaud the church community for their clear sighted vision.

I urge the council to approve this application. We have to act NOW regarding the climate emergency and the council should be taking the lead in increasing sustainabity and shoukd be supporting applications from local people and local organisations trying to do their best to help the council meet its own stated objectives

Planning permission must be given to allow solar panel on the roof of Christ Church Ore and the church hall because:

1. Addressing climate change for our children's future is far more important than the appearance of listed buildings. If climate change is not addressed in every way possible, then listed buildings will become the last of our children's concerns; they will be fighting to find food.

2. The purpose of the church building is to serve God. The Bible teaches that we are the protectors of the Earth. The eternal ethos of the building is more fundamental than its antiquated appearance.

3. The church is a significant community building and the major need of our community is to address climate change, for the sake of the future of our community.

The solar panels will reflect the fact that the church, the community of Ore, and the people of Hastings, are all addressing the most important issue of our time: climate change. The panels on the church will act as a beacon, reminding everyone to act to stop climate change. If the council don't give planning permission, the council will be promoting the opposite message, in which case, God help us.

I fully support the installation of solar on the roof of this church. It is urgent that we move to renewable energy sources as quickly as possible and this installation could encourage many other bodies to move forward with renewables.

I think it is marvellous that a community institution like this is prepared to make a stand against climate change and do the right thing to reduce its carbon foot print. While there might be some objections about solar panels not in keeping with the historic design of the building, we need to realise that without such projects increasing our use of Green energy resources, there won't be a future for future generations to enjoy this church and hall in any state or form. Please do the right thing and approve this project.

I am in full support of this application.

I reckon The Almighty would approve of any means to protect the planet and its inhabitants, so who are we to deny renewable energy on this building?

It's a must.

Mr Chris Coverdale

This can only be of benefit to the local community, to the members of the Church, to all council tax payers, to all business rates payers and to our local energy company Energise Sussex Coast.

Refusing this application will demonstrate the planning committee's subservience to outdated central government planning policies that benefit the large energy companies at the expense of the needs and wishes of the local community.

Please support and authorise this application.

I urge you to grant permission for this inspiring initiative.

We are in a climate emergency and need to show leadership. It is great that this church is doing so.

Please support them and get behind renewable energy.

It is the future - and is urgently needed for all our futures.

I support this application.

We need to do more to establish solar and wind sources of energy!

This is urgent !

I find it hard to understand why this is in dispute.

If it is about the 'look' then that needs to be weighed in relation to the more urgent situation of Climate Change.

This is about the future for our children and their children.

Each small action or another solar panel can help

Please reconsider.

I'd like to briefly register my support for the current planning application from Christ Church Ore, in regards the installation of solar on their church roof (application reference numbers HS/LB/19/00890 and HS/FA/19/00889 and HS/FA/19/01004.

In the face of the current climate emergency, we should be doing everything we can to reduce our dependence on fossil fuels, to build resilient communities, and to work towards mitigating the potential impacts of global heating.

While not irrelevant, we must allow our aesthetic sensibilities to adapt to the circumstances which we're living in, and encourage everyone to take positive action. Buildings with solar panels already look more beautiful, more function and more relevant in their communities than those without.

Please approve these applications, and allow Christ Church Ore to install solar panels.
